What Causes Itching Sensation In The Anal Area Post An Ileostomy?
Hi i have crohns,I had an ileostomy in 2001 when my anus was sewn up too,the last week I ve suffered itching,soreness and pain becoming unbearable today so I went to my urgent care centre where a doctor examined me,he prescribed me flucloxacillin and anusol cream as he said it was inflamed and infected,does this sound feasible to you,my ibd nurse said it may be an abscess

Hello, A wound starts healing there is possibility of itching. This happens due to various inflammatory mediators relsead there as part of repair process. If you scratch then it tends to get aggravated. The prescription given to you should help in taking care of that. Thanks
