What Causes Itching On The Roof Of The Mouth?

Hello sir,
I am having a itch towards the roof of my mouth. I have shown two ent doctors. The first one gave me alerfri to be taken twice a day. Dispred 4 mg once at night. I took the medicine for 3 days but no relief so I went to another ent. He has given me vitaresp fc 180 for once each night and citravite chewable morning and evening. Both say it's allergic reaction. But I have been having this problem for last full month. I want to know can an allergy be constantly present for one whole month. I am a smoker , but haven't smoked since last month.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

As per your complain, yes the symptoms are indicating towards allergies..
Allergic reaction can persist if the cause is not ruled out and allergen is eliminated from body..
I would suggest you to consult an Allergist and get allergic tests like Patch test, RAST test, food challenge
test etc can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
The tests will help in ruling out the exact cause of the allergen and once you know the cause of the
allergic reaction you can avid exposure to it to prevent allergy attack..
He can be advised to take anti allergics like benadryl, Allegra etc
Do steam inhalations..
He can also be instilled an Immunotherapy that will help in reducing the severity and frequency of
allergic attack..
Once the allergen is ruled out avoiding exposure to it can prevent the allergy symptoms..

Hope this helps..

Regards.
