What Causes Itching On The Body After Taking Lisinopril And Hydrochlorothiazide?

I am currently taking Lisinopril-HCTZ 10-12.5 MG each morning to control my high blood pressure. I ve taken it for about 10 days now. For the past 4 days I ve noticed that I am very itchy on my sides and back and wonder if this could be a reaction from this medication. I also take Centrum Silver, and Vitamin B12 every morning. Please let me know if this reaction would be temporary, or if I should contact my doctor. Thank you, Barb YYYY@YYYY , Webster, NY

HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

If the lisinopril is the only recent change, then it is definitely possible that it may be the cause of your symptoms.
It is possible to be allergic to any medication but this reaction cannot be predicted till the particular medication is used.

You should consider discussing this possibility with your doctor who may switch you to an alternative that you may be able to tolerate better.

I hope this helps
