I woke around 2;30am Wednesday morning with an itchy area around my left thumb and pointing finger. The area was rather raised and red, Did not want to scratch it but the welt area started to grow and was going upward to my wrist, Went to the ER at my local hospital and was given an injection of a steroid and an injection of Benadryl, Had a prescription for a steroid and Benadryl ( 25 mg) and had them filled. Since I had no problem at the time, I took one diphenhydramine and felt that that was all I need. Now, today, the same thing occurred on the same upper hand and I have taken another benedryl 25 mg capsule and the itching has lessened considerabley and also applied ice pack to area. I believe that a tiny, tiny flying insect may have bitten me while at the kitchen sink at that time. Should I take another Benadryl or what???? Thank you!!!! Mary Puckett YYYY@YYYY
