Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my ear lobe has been itching and now swollen possibly from rubbing itch. Over 3 days have applied cortizone ointment and this afternoon peroxide. Can feel slight throbbing. Not itching at moment as used cortizone about 3. this occured several weeks ago but cleared, and now have it again.
The itching and swelling around earlobe could be related to insect bite. However, a close examination will give more specific details. Despite applying Cortisone ointment, you can feel slight throbbing, and it has been repeated after the first appearance several weeks ago, I highly recommend to get it seen by your caring doctor to rule out possible infection. You might need prescription antibiotics orally and locally.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
