What Causes Itching And Pain Around The Area Of Dog Bite?

I was bite by a dog last Sunday. It broke the skin and bleed. Deep punctures . I treated with triple antibodies ointment and covered with bad aids. It bruised and looks like bites healing over, but very soar yet to touch and starting to itch. Dog had shots up to date. I didn t see a doctor, but called office and my get a shot was up to date. Do I need to see a doctor ? And what causes itching ?

Itching could be due to healing of wound or due to the Ointment used . There is nothing to worry about it . But if the pain increases in severity then you need to consult your doctor.

You mentioned you got a shot . What was that ? Tetanus or Rabies Vaccine ? Kindly let me know .
