What Causes Itching And Burning Sensation On Vagina After Shaving?

Hello, I recently Started shaving my vagina area. I have been itching and burning terribly. I ve been using warm wash clothes to help with the irritation. However, I noticed a white cheesy like substance on the outer part of the vaginal area. I ve only been with my husband for the last 20 years and I know he is 100% faithful to me. Again, I only noticed this two days after shaving the area, can you please tell me what it could be and what the treatment is for this. I must tell you that we have been very sexually active since I have shaved and could it be because we are being more active? Please help!! Cj

Hi!
Welcome to HCM!
It is not a serious matter of concern!
As per the description of events in your question, you are suffering from fungal infection (candidiasis) involving your private parts. It is not a sexually transmitted disease. It is also not due to more sexual activities.

This fungal infection can be effectively treated with the help of Fluconazole suppositories or miconazole suppositories to be inserted into the vagina.
Wishing you a speedy recovery from your problem.
Regards!
