What Causes Irritation And Swelling Of The Right Eye?

On July 6, my left eye became extremely irritated and within an hour I could no longer wear my contact lens. I went to see an urgent care doctor and was given a medication for pink eye, although I tried to convince them that it was not conjunctivitus. I ended up seeing my eye specialist a few days later and was treated for a corneal ulcer, which most likely was caused by the contact lens and me rubbing my eye after it became irritated. The day after the onset of my eye irritation, my right ear became inflamed and irritated and my hearing was limited similar to that when your ear needs to pop. I was treated with a Z pac and a steroid. Taking both of these improved the ear and eye within 2 days, but now that I'm done taking those medications, the originals symptoms are slowing reappearing. I've had several friends mention some type of condition that affects both the ear and eye a the same time and was wondering if you could shed any light on any of these conditions.

The eye and ear can be affected most commonly because of Viral infection. But the way you are describing about the cornea looks like you had a herpes viral infection which responds to a combination of oral antiviral and steroid medications.
I think you need a course of antiviral and steroids for longer duration for about 2 weeks.
