What Causes Irregular Periods With Lower Back Pain Post Intake Of Warfarin?
Hi i have been afraid to go to my own doctor with worrying symptoms. A year ago i had an unexplained blood clot and was put on warfarin therapy for 6 months. This finished in June. Since June i have been having really irregular periods i.e every 2 weeks. I thought this might just be because of being on warfarin and would settle with time but it is actually getting worse. Lately i have noticed lower back pain as well and urgency in need to urinate. What could cause this? i am a 22 year old female.
It is not likely the warfarin if you have been off it for more than a few weeks.
The symptoms could be due to infection of the genital urinary tract eg vaginal infection or infection involving the uterus/tubes. It may also be due to any issues with the cervix.
It would be best to see your doctor for an assessment which would include physical examination of the abdomen and a vaginal examination. Swabs and papsmear (if no recent one) may be necessary.
If an infection is present then there is medication available that can treat it appropriately.
Cervical lesions/issues can also be treated as well.
I hope this helps
