My daughter is 19 y.o. She has never had regular periods. In the last 1 1/2 years, she has had weight gain and suddenly started having acne (NEVER had this as an adolescent). She also has fatigue and muscle weakness. About 6 weeks ago, her family doctor diagnosed her with polycystic ovarian syndrome (lab work was done, ultrasound NOT done) and started her on metformin. She felt some better but still not good. This past Thursday, she started feeling really nauseated. We went back to the family doctor. He said she had a stomach virus, and gave her zophran and told her to stop the metformin until the nausea was better. Nausea was better Saturday morning so she started metformin again. Saturday afternoon she was so fatigued and had so much muscle weakness that she could barely sit up or hold her phone up. This has continued until now. She needs to go to class, do homework, study, etc., but has absolutely NO energy!! Please help!
