What Causes Irregular Heart Beats And Shortness Of Breath?

I ve been experiencing irregular heart beat & shortness of breath since I was a kid and am now 63, still very active, about 30 lbs overweight . Lately I m having more frequent episodes with longer durations. I ve been under increased stressed with my business and personal life. Is this a concern especially since I ve had this most of my life but less frequent when I was younger.

-Consult an expert cardiologist,undergi the suggested investigations &start with specific treatment.
-Have a healthy lifestyle including healthy expert advised diet (so as to reduce weight)/ regular physical exercises ( yoga-pranayam,walking ) for 45 minutes (gradually attainded) daily/stress management by meditation,psychological councelling ,yoganidra audio cassette .
-Have a positive approach towards life.
-e strict about medicines &medical check ups.
