Hi,

Involuntary head and hand movements in children can be caused by a variety of conditions, one of which is Tourette Syndrome. Tourette Syndrome is a neurological disorder characterized by repetitive, involuntary movements and vocalizations called tics. It usually starts in childhood and is more common in boys than girls.

If your grandson has been diagnosed with Tourette Syndrome, various treatments and interventions can help manage the symptoms. These may include medications, behavioral therapy, and lifestyle changes. The first step would be to consult with a healthcare professional who specializes in treating Tourette Syndrome. A neurologist, psychiatrist, or pediatrician may be able to provide a diagnosis and recommend appropriate treatment options.

In addition, there are support groups and organizations that provide resources and information for individuals and families affected by Tourette Syndrome. These groups can help connect with others who are dealing with similar challenges and learn about available resources and strategies for managing symptoms.

Some organizations that may be helpful include the Tourette Association of America and the National Institute of neurological disorders and stroke. It's great that you are seeking help for your grandson. With proper management and support, many individuals with Tourette Syndrome can lead fulfilling and successful lives.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
