What Causes Inverted Left Nipple Despite Having Negative Mammography Result?

I m a 54 yr. old woman. I just had my annual mammo. Had to go back and get a sonogram. Came out negative. My concern is that my left nipple seems to be indented, tipping downward. These are my breasts and I know how they look, this is something that has changed in the last 3 or 4 months. I told the Dr. and he said we ll recheck it in a couple of months but that I did just have a mammo and sonogram that came out negative. I ve got to him for years and I DO like him but I ve never had any physical problems.......

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It is not a sign of cancer or another serious disease. As the mammogram is fine, you can now opt for the suction device to correct the nipple.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
