What Causes Intermittent Pins And Needles In Right Hand?

my son is 23, vegetarian,very healthy and rarely unwell (usual colds, coughs etc). Recently he has been experiencing intermittent pins and needles in his right hand. Length of episodes varies and they always stop by themselves. What may be causing this?

It can be due to compression of nerve roots in cervical spine region...visit orthopaedic surgeon or neurologist once...
