What Causes Inter Menstrual Bleeding?

Hi I started my period again 10 days after I had just finished and now I m on my 9th day and that s not normal for me because my cycles are usually 6/7 days long. Weirdly this period has been very light, nothing compared to my normal periods. Also, I take no birth control or anything that could mess with my period.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

If this is the first time you get this unusual bleeding please have a pregnancy test to rule out pregnancy. If the pregnancy test comes out negative then you don't need to worry but just watch how the next period will be.

If this is a repeated problem you will need to see your doctor and have a gynecological visit and possibly if you think you are exposed to risk for sexually transmitted diseases you will need to have some samples for chlamydia and gonorrhea. A pap test is recommended as well if you are over 21 years of age and have not had one in the last 2 years.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards,
Dr. Zotaj Antoneta, General & Family Physician
