What Causes Intense Pain And Lumps In The Lower Back?

I have had extremely bad back pain for about 3 or 4 days. It s across my lower back. I feel like it s muscle spams but, I do know there are glands there. Both sides of my back have budge that I can feel. I hate to go to ER because they are always mean. I live in a bible thumping community and I have tattoos, was a cutter in my teens and have had past drug addiction problems. Though I m scared is serious, I just can t make myself go be mistreated anymore. Can you tell me if lower back pain, shocks to the spine and lumps on my low back could be just muscle spasms? If I have a history of excutiating pain when I walk, could it now just be doing the same without walking. I have a doctor appt in 12 days with my pain management Dr. Can I wait. I do have a slight headache and feel nausea some. I am hoping that just from the pain being a 10 for several days. No fever.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

* The muscle sprain or spasm is not responsible for bulge over both sides of the back, so definite reason underlying has to be sorted out.

If the region of flanks is involved, with the previous history of drug addiction, a kidney problem with hydronephrosis may be of prime concern.

In rest of the cases, accidental noticing of lipoma with nerve compression pain involving lumbar spine region can be of possible issue.

Kindly get a primary check up with your doc for further guidelines and management parameters.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
