What Causes Inflammation On The Face?

I ve been flushed for several days now. My face is flushed and I seem inflamed sort of. Other parts of my body are pinker as well. Not really running a fever but feel feverish. I haven t been sleeping well but don t know if that s significant at all. Nothing has changed in meds, laundry detergent, food or activities. Any ideas? Thanks much. Never mind....it didn t cost before to look for answers. Sad.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

There are many conditions that cause flushing.
Starting from emotional states such as (anger, anxiety),hormonal changes in the menopausal transition.
Flushing can also accompany allergic reactions and some inflammatory conditions.
You can try using antihistamines (cetirizine) for 3 days, and if you don't have any improvemenent, you better consult your family physician or dermatologist for further examination.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
