What Causes Inflammation In The Left Testicle?

Hello I had a left testicle inflammation and then a recurrent inflammation of the prostate - e.coli bacteria. I was talking antybiotics for over a year with some breaks. Now it seems that bacteria is in low level I had 2 Mearesa - Stameya tests were results were negative (only my worry is that bacteria amount in urine after prostate massage was bigger). I feel better now, but a 2-3 months ago I started to have tingling in left foot (the same side as my left testicle inflammation) also still I have visible fluid from prostate when I am in the toilet (stool passed over your prostate and pushed out some fluid). Sometimes I also still feel like I would have golf ball in my rectum. Is it possible that this tingling is caused by prostate? Thins tingling is almost all the time. My doctor is saying that not and he thinks that I am healthy.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

This type of pain and location is suggestive of epididimitis which is inflammation of part of testicle and this not uncommon in males especially in young age. This is usually treated within 10 days of antibiotics, usually Ciprofloxacin and there are no permanent consequences.

Masturbation and intercourse should be avoided till pain persist, if possible since I may prolong inflammation course. Some more serious conditions such as tumors or torsion are rare but in doubtful cases you should do Doppler ultrasound or scintigraphy. In this particular case, I don’t think this is required and this should improve on antibiotic therapy.

Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein,
General Surgeon
