What Causes Inflammation And Itching On The Index Finger?
I have a problem with the index finger of one hand. The skin has redness, & is crusty and scaly. It burns & itches. I have tried lotions, neosporin ointment with a bandaid covering it, etc. but hasn t helped. I ve had it for a least a month. My children have excema, but I ve never had it. I m wondering if that s what this is?

Exams are not contagious. So children cannot transmit it to you but if you have it somewhere else on the body, it can occur on finger too. Your problem seems to be fungal infection not responding to Neosporin locally. You need oral antifungal along with ointment to cure the problem.
