I have a question for you, followed by a list of my husbands numerous health problems. He has been having problems with his digestion. He feels like food is staying in his stomach for too long. The doctor told him to take a blood test, and the results came back today. He has something wrong with his pancreas. He has an ultrasound tomorrow. What should I be bracing myself for? Fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, hypoglycemia, restless leg syndrome, sleep apnea ,acne on his back shoulders, and chest sometimes he gets mouth ulcers,he has been told by a chiropractor that he had spina bifida as a child, and that the t3 and t4 vertebrae are fused in his lower back.

Hi,

Indigestion can have many potential causes, including digestive disorders, food intolerances, stress, and certain medications. Given your husband's other health conditions, one or more of these factors may be contributing to his symptoms.

The fact that your husband has been experiencing indigestion and feeling like food is staying in his stomach for too long, along with the discovery of an issue with his pancreas, suggests that he may be experiencing pancreatic insufficiency. This occurs when the pancreas is unable to produce enough digestive enzymes to break down food properly, leading to indigestion and other digestive symptoms.

It's important to note that while pancreatic insufficiency can be a serious condition, it is also treatable with enzyme replacement therapy. Your husband's ultrasound will help to determine the extent of the problem and guide treatment options.

In addition to pancreatic insufficiency, your husband's other health conditions could also be contributing to his digestive symptoms. For example, fibromyalgia can cause gastrointestinal issues such as irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and acid reflux, while hypoglycemia can cause nausea, dizziness, and other digestive symptoms.

Overall, it's important to work closely with your husband's healthcare provider to determine the underlying cause of his indigestion and develop an appropriate treatment plan. This may involve dietary changes, medication, or other interventions depending on the specific cause of his symptoms.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
