What Causes Increased Heart Rate And Weakness In The Body?

After I worked out Monday, my heart rate increased to 120 and stayed there for several minutes, which it usually doesn t. I also felt weak when was getting dressed. Was I starting to have a heart attack, and what other symptoms should I watch out for when working out?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

A heart attack does not start and stop which is unfortunate because if this was the case, it would help a lot of persons. If you were having a heart attack, you would have had a heart attack. A heart attack can be associated with chest pain, shortness of breath, excess sweating, nausea, anxiety, dizziness, clammy sensation. If you experience any of these then you should be seen as soon as possible.

I hope this helps. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Michelle Gibson James
