Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have an ICD implant last July 19, 2017. Previously I had a low SGOT and SGPT in my lab test after one month. I had another lab test 2 weeks ago and my SGOT -58 but SGPT 33.7. What may have caused a higher SGOT which is higher than the normal level?
Only your SGOT increased and SGPT within the limit. So no alarming rise is present. Temporary viral infection can lead to transient liver enzymes elevation. Check liver enzymes again after a week. If persistent high, then an ultrasound abdomen is done to rule out the fatty liver.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Parth Goswami
