What Causes Impaired Vision And Balance With History Of Spinal Fusion?

Yes please. I ve had a Lumbar 4-5 fusion, done wrong in 2005. Currently and as diagnosed be a neurologist with another necessary fusion of L 2-3. My question is, could L 2-3 effect my vision or balance? I wake up in the morning dry heaving, dizzy and so off balance, could this be the new joint venture that s necessary. Im sorry to bother so, but I m pretty advanced in certain things and so trying to put a string of these items together. Basically, what part of the brain/spine effects vision? I m trying to read but struggling. 63 year old women??? if you can t help or don t want to guess, I understand... thank you Pamela

Hello,

You have got a history of spinal fusion. Spinal fusion often results in compression of the spinal cord causing backache, neck pain, tingling, muscle weakness and may complicate to impaired bladder and bowel movement. Get treated at the earliest. Since you are having dizziness, heaving and loss of co ordination, it could be due to Vertigo. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an ENT, get audiology tests done to detect any hearing problem.

Vertigo causes dizziness and co-ordination impairments, get treated. Do not drive, do not do any heavy work, stay at rest. You will be treated with Vertin-32, if Vertigo is confirmed. Vision issues can be corrected by an optician, you may need a pair of lenses. Cerebellum (occipital lobe) affects vision.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
