General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is common to experience hot sensations in the abdomen and head after surgery due to several factors, such as stress, inflammation, and changes in blood flow. In addition, not being able to drink water for a few days can also lead to dehydration, which can cause sensations of warmth or heat. However, if your mother's body temperature is normal, she is unlikely to have a fever or infection.

It is important to follow the doctor's instructions regarding when your mother can start drinking water after surgery, as they will have specific guidelines based on her case. Generally, it is important to start with small sips of water and gradually increase the amount over time to avoid potential complications. If your mother's symptoms persist or worsen, it is important to contact her doctor for further evaluation.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Priyanka, General & Family Physician
