What Causes Hoarseness Of Voice And Sore Throat After Taking Prolia Injection?

I took my first Prolia injection July 14. After the first week I started having hoarseness, sore throat, and my voice has changed. Almost like I have larnigitis. I have to force my voice. I understand this is a side effect, but how long will it last. My oncologist thought it should subside. Help!!!!

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history of developing hoarseness of voice, sore throat after taking Prolia Injection and your Oncologist has says this will subside.
It looks that you have to continue Prolia injection, talk to your Oncologist if a substitute is available.
Consult an ENT Surgeon to get a Laryngoscopy to know hte exact cause of hoarseness of voice.
If the cause is local and unrelated to Prolia injection it will be treated as per the history, clinical findings and laryngoscopy.
Voice rest is very important.
Take steam inhalations.
Further medications to be taken as per the findings.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant, General Surgeon
