What Causes Hoarse Voice Along With Ear Pain And Headaches?

Hi, I have got hoarse voice for more than a month. I started having right ear pain a few days ago and when I lay down I feel pressure around my neck and a migraine like headache.I don t see or feel any lumps in my neck and throat area. I was seen by ENT about 2 weeks ago and he sent a camera into my nose and checked everything. He said it s all inflamed and advised using inhalators. I did and not getting better. Any advise? Thanks

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query your child have ear pain which is due to ear infection and sometimes infection spread from throat to ear through eustachian tube or visa versa and also spread all the way to larynx ,which can cause hoarsness of voice. I would suggest you to visit Otolaryngologist immediately and get evaluated and start treatment after proper examination. Get all the lab tests done and examination with otoscope. You should take antibiotic Ciprofloxacin along with Ibuprofen. You should put Otogesic ear drops 2-3 times a day. You should take proper rest. Try to avoid pricking it with any sharp object. You should avoid sleeping on this side. Apply dry warm compresses to ear and keep it dry while bathing ,also do warm saline gargles several times a day .
