What Causes Hives Along With Swelling In The Fingers?

I m just getting over a bad case, two weeks, of hives and now several fingers and one wrist are swollen and I am starting to break out a bit again. Can they be related? I m on one antihistamine per day and Benadryl as needed but not to exceed 6 per day.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your case history of hives, my treatment advice is -
1. Avoid fast food and food with artificial colors for 2 months.
2. Apply a soothing lotion like Calamine lotion on affected region.
3. Take an antihistamine medication like Levocetrizine.

If problem persists then consult a dermatologist.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
