What Causes High Blood Pressure While On Lisinopril?

I have been on lisinopril 20 milligram for two weeks the last one I took this Friday at 6 p.m. my blood pressure was good yesterday and this morning and this afternoon the tonight and had an average of being in the mid to low thirties on the high into the high two mid-eighties for the diastolic is it just because maybe I had sodium in my meal earlier or that I m nervous? I would like to wean myself off of this drug should I wait till the morning to see what the ratings are before I take another Lisinopril?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

As I see through your query Lisinopril is not the right medication to use for high blood pressure in your case.

I suggest you consult a cardiologist and get evaluated.

An alternative medication may be needed to maintain blood pressure under control.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
