What Causes High BP, Headaches And Weight Gain?

Just received my labs back and my TSH level was at 3.5. I have a significant family history of thyroid problems (Mom, Aunt, sister, Grandma) and have been experiencing the following symptoms: extreme fatigue, irritability, headaches, nausea, short term memory loss and weight gain. Could I still have hypothyroid? In addition, they said my blood glucose level was slightly elevated and I ve had 140/100 blood pressure when I m normally 110/80 for as long as I can remember. They ve said it s more likely anxiety/ depression and want to put me on Paxil. Thoughts?

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.
Your headache is due to your high blood pressure and you should take antihypertensive medicine to lower your blood pressure. Moreover your weight gain, irritability and fatigue may be due to hypothyroidism or depression and anxiety.
You should check your TSH with free T3 and free T4. Then you should take treatment accordingly.
Hope I have answered your question, if you have doubt then I will be happy to answer. Thanks for using health care magic. Wish you a very good health.
