What Causes High ALT And AST Levels With Hair Loss?

I had some blood work done to check my thyroid, due to some hair loss. Thyroid came back normal, but my alt was 201 ast was 80. I am a 41 yr old white female, non drinker, non smoker, not on any oral medications. My dr then drew for hepatitis screen. It was normal. I am scheduled for a liver ultrasound. Other symptoms are fatigue. No pain or signs of gall bladder issues. What else should I look into to see what is causing the high levels.

Hello,
Thank you for truating HealthcareMagic

The elevations in AST and ALT in your case is mild.
Mild elevations can be due to Fatty liver (Fat deposition in liver, seen in diabetics, obesity) , chronic hepatitis (which has been ruled out in your case) and certain medications.
Follow up with your doctor for Ultrasound of liver and gall bladder as scheduled to rule out fatty liver .

Hope I was able to help you
Please address further questions/concerns
