What Causes Heavy Vaginal Bleeding?

I have very heavy vaginally bleeding with dull pain and I finished my period 6 days ago. I am smelling blood. The blood that is coming out is watery and extreme. I went to a doctor yesterday and blood work was normal. Doctor gave me a hormone blocker Provera. Do I need to go to the ER?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Heavy vaginal bleeding can be a sign of an underlying disease like endometriosis, fibroid uterus etc. I would advise you to get yourself checked by a gynaecologist and also get a USG abdomen done for proper diagnosis. Meanwhile, continue taking Provera and if the bleeding is very heavy you can also take tab. Trenaxa. You can discuss this with your physician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
