What Causes Heavy, Long Periods Post Cervical Biopsy?

I m a little worried. I had a cervical biopsy two weeks ago. I didn t have any cramping or bleeding. The first week after the biopsy I had to wear pads due to watery discharge. The second week, I started my period, which was the usual time I get it every month but my flow has been heavy and instead of the usual 3-4 days I m now going on day 7 and I just had two huge clots oozing out. Not even on my heaviest period have I lost so much blood. I m also cramping now. Is this normal? When will my period stop?

Your long heavy periods one week after biopsy in time as expected is not related to biopsy. To day is 7th day , you should w eight for to day , if it stops today it is normal..You have cramps and in first week you had watery discharge, If your bleeding does not stop with in one day i mean if it crosses 7 days then it becomes abnormal. At the moment if i have to treat such a patient i will advice tab tranemaxic acid with ethysimate three times a day, tab mefspas three times a day. If bleeding does not stop you have to go for investigations for watery discharge and menorrhagia. I will advice hb, tlc, dlc esr , pti, blood sugar, vaginal smear for examination and culture and sensitivity, and ultrasound for uterous examination.
