What Causes Heavy Bleeding Inspite Of Positive Pregnancy Test?

Hello Doctor, My wife is a housewife, she took the pregnancy test recently and it indicated as positive, but she started bleeding heavily after 43 days, we thought she is pregnant and this is happening for 3rd time in a row. Not sure what is the issue here. Can you please suggest

Hi,

According to your history there is a possibility for recurrent pregnancy loss. The possible causes of recurrent pregnancy loss in early gestation are:

-Genetical causes, especially in case of consanguineous marriage.
-Infectious causes like TORCH group of infections.
-Immunological causes like Autoimmune diseases etc.
-Structural causes like uterine anomalies
-Endocrinological causes like thyroid abnormalities, diabetes etc.

As the pregnancy loss occurred third time, careful evaluation in needed. Please consult Gynecologist once, get examined and go for investigations like:

-Complete blood picture
-Blood sugar level estimation, renal function tests
-Thyroid profile
-Ultrasound
-TORCH panel
-Antiphospholipid antibody test
-Karyotyping of husband and wife

With this work-up the possible cause of the problem can be identified and treatment can be planned accordingly.
