What Causes Heavy And Long Menstrual Bleeding Along With Headaches?

Hi I m 31, May 12 of this year I had a di-di twin delivery by Cesarean section with a bilateral salpingectomy. This was my second pregnancy and second c section as i developed preeclampsia with both pregnancies. My first cycle came end of June and it was heavy, 6 days long soaking pad every 2-3 hours. The next cycle was a little lighter bleeding wise but a few days longer... since then I have had a 22 day heavy then moving to moderate the last week cycle and then a 32 day cycle that started very heavy and moved to light at the end. I ended that cycle two weeks ago. I have now started a new cycle, heavy soaking a regular tampon and a pad every 2 hours. Is this the norm after having my tubes taken out? It s been five months since delivery so in theory my cycles should be evening out but they re getting longer and heavier. I m having intense headaches and cramping as well... I have always heavily cramped but it is worse since having the tubes removed. Should I be concerned of the length and amount? Does it sound like a fibroid or could this just be a complication after two c sections and a salpingectomy (maybe some adhesions could cause extra cramping maybe?)

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

As a first line management you can take drugs like tranexamic acid to control bleeding.

If symptoms persist better to consult a gynaecologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
