What Causes Heartburn, Breathlessness, Fatigue And Burning Urination?

Hi I have had Crohns disease for 45 years, severe heartburn, now severe breathlessness, I am a former smoker, but haven t smoked now for 15 years. I can manage the other things but the breathlessness, and fatique is too hard, and I also have a slight burning of the urine, I am single and not indulged in sexual intercourse for many years, I feel that I have Acidosis, do you think this could be the cause?

Hello,

I assume that you are taking appropriate treatment for the Crohn’s disease as per your doctor’s advice. Heartburn can be a result of acidity, anti-acid like Pantocid in the morning empty stomach for at least a week helps in relieving the symptom.

For breathlessness and fatigue, as you have a history of smoking for a long duration, I would suggest you visit a pulmonologist, a physical examination is necessary along with some diagnostic tests like chest X-ray and few other tests if your doctor feels so.

Other cause for your symptoms can be cardiac and stress test can be advised to see if the cause is cardiac.

Are you hypertensive? After the test results diagnosis can be made and depending on the etiology appropriate management will be advised to you by your doctor.

Burning sensation in urine is highly suggestive of urinary tract infection and urine routine and microbial examination are advised.

It needs to be treated with appropriate antibiotics for quick relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
