What Causes Heart Palpitations?

I have had benign heart palpitations over the years and all Heart tests have been negative. I have not had them in a very long time. Last Friday I had steroid shots in both of my knees and have had heart flutters or palpitations starting Saturday. Can this be from the shots and if so how long can they last?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It can be from the shot and from the procedure. Also I can recommend you to check thyroid hormone levels because hyperthyroidism may be a cause.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Olgeta Xhufka , General & Family Physician
