What Causes Heart Palpitations While Having A Normal Stress Test Result?

Yes, I am a 62 year old Female and have been having really bad heart palpitations. My doctor saw how bad they were. I have had a stress test, An ultra sound of the heart and finally an angiogram. My Chloestro is 190 and all my test have come out fine. I do not have high blood pressure and they tried putting me on 25 mg. of metropolaw and it slows my heart way to low so I cannot take it. Do you have any suggestions as to why it is doing it. It did it for four months straight and when I had the angiogram it stopped, but the Doctor said the test was fine. They have now started up again.

Hello,

You have check for other causes for palpitations other than anxiety.
1. Hyperthyroidism
2. Severe anemia
3. Pheochromocytoma
4. Valvular/myocardial/pericardial/vascular diseases
5. Electrolyte imbalance et cetera

To control for palpitations, you do regular exercise and yoga and meditation. Continue Metaprolol, it is act by decreasing heart rate.

So, if your heart rate maintaining above 60/minute, then it is alright you can continue Metaprolol. Use Anxiolytic agent s for stress.

If symptoms not improved, please consult your psychiatrist, he/she will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
