What Causes Heart Palpitations In A Person With Anxiety?
I have recently been diagnosed with heart palpetations...extra beats n skipping..sometimes it feels like my heart is beating out of my chest..Dr don t seem to worried but it worries me. I suffer from anxiety n panic attacks. They have me on valume 5mg 3/day norco 7.25/325 3/day and now ambien 10 mg at nite for insomnia. Should I b concerned or is this normal and ok? I fear blood clots, heart attack, stroke..and I read about cns depression.. what do u think and recommend?
Of course, occasional extra beats or skipping the heart beat may be normal and usually do not require any treatment except for observation by repeated follow up. All your symptoms seem to co-relate to combination of various conditions like anxiety, phobias, panic attacks as well as depression. Therefore, you should take your treatment under guidance of your psychiatrist.
However, mental conditions may also co-exist with heart disorder, therefore if the symptoms still persist with psychiatric treatment, then you should also see a cardiologist to confirm/rule out any co-existing heart condition.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
