What Causes Hearing Of Noises In The Head?

First of all, I m a colon cancer survivor & have it again now. I m almost 72 yrs. old. T-ice recently - a couple of weeks apart - I ve had this grinding noise in my head that stops me in my tracks, almost stops my breathing. I think it only last a few seconds but then I hear myself groan and slowly I return to myself. It worries me that the cancer may have spread to my brain. ???

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

I passed carefully through your question and would explain that your symptoms do not seem to be related to a brain metastasis. But, I would recommend performing a brain CT scan or MRI just to be sure that every thing is OK. I would also recommend complete blood count for anemia and thyroid hormone levels for possible thyroid gland dysfunction.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
