Hi,
I have read your query just now. Multiple sclerosis and stroke have a lot in common. It needs high expertize to differentiate both. Stroke in this age is not that common. Let me tell some points in favour of multiple sclerosis and some points here in favour of stroke.
Points in favour of stroke:
1) If she has diabetes, hypertension, any
autoimmune disorders,
obstructive sleep apnea (overweight and excess snoring) it favours the diagnosis towards stroke.
2) A headache, difficulty in walking, slurred speech, deviation of mouth favours stroke.
3) Lack of coordination favours stroke.
Points in favour of MS:
1) Any family history? If yes then it's more likely MS.
2)
Electric shock like sensation associated with certain movements like flexing the neck
3) Slurred speech.
4) Problems with bowel movements and
bladder dysfunction.
5) Typical radiological findings of multiple sclerosis.
6) Any tremors or twitching can shift it towards MS.
Consult with the
Neurologist, and he will be able to pinpoint the diagnosis and treat it.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
