Hello!
Thank you for asking on HCM!
I understand your concern and would explain that your
headaches are closely related to the uncontrolled
high blood pressure.
It is not common for persons of your age to have this values of blood pressure. A secondary cause of high blood pressure should be investigated.
Do you have any family history of high blood pressure?
Do you suffer from any kidney or
thyroid dysfunction?
I recommend consulting with the GP for a careful physical examination, a resting ECG, a chest x ray and some blood lab tests :
- thyroid hormone levels
-
cortisol plasma levels
- complete blood count
- kidney and liver function tests
- fasting glucose
- blood electrolytes, etc, to find a possible cause related to your high blood pressure.
I recommend discussing with your attending physician about these possibilities and the proper therapy (treating the underlying cause or consider anti hypertensive therapy if no underlying cause is found ).
Regarding chewable tobbaco, it is an independent risk factor for cardio
vascular disease, besides uncontrolled high blood pressure.
I recommend reduce it as much as possible.
Hope to have been helpful!
Best wishes,
Dr. Iliri
