What Causes Headache, Dizziness And Hand Tremors Post Bout Of Malaria?

Hi my partner was diagnosed with Malaria two weeks ago and he was recovering well after he got out of the hospital. After a week he started having nasty headaches, dizziness, shaky hands and body and his speech seems a little slurred. We went back to the hospital, the doctors ran all kinds of tests for malaria, checking the liver, overdose with quinine, a CT scan in the brain looking for clogged blood veins etc but it all came out fine so now they don t know what it is. Can anybody help?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hello,

His situation could be related to drugs adverse effects. I would also recommend checking thyroid hormone levels, vitamin B12 plasma levels, and performing a brain MRI, which would give more information compared to the brain CT scan.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Ilir Sharka, Cardiologist
