What Causes Headache And Tiredness After Taking Lexipro?

Yes, actually. I take a small daily dose of lexipro (generic escitalopram) - 10 mg. I ran out on Thursday and forgot to get the prescription refilled on Friday. So it will be Monday before I can take it again. I have been feeling sort of shaky, headachy, tired, and more emotional than normal. Side effect of the sudden decrease in the med?

Pathologist and Microbiologist 's  Response
During studies on subjects taking Escitalopram , on sudden withdrawal various symptoms were noted.
The symptoms that were rated moderate by most people were stomach upsets, flu-like symptoms, dizziness, vivid dreams and electric shocks/brain zaps. The less common symptoms were reported as severe: returning depression, headache, suicidal thoughts, insomnia, fatigue and nausea.
But as you have got your prescription, there shouldn't be any more of a problem.
Also you didn't write the dose and for how long have you been taking it. The withdrawals mentioned are in subjects taking it for a year or more.
Nothing to worry. Godspeed!
