What Causes Headache And Sore Throat After Recovering From Fever?
Son, diagnosed with strept throat last week with high fever (102 and 103). He was put on antibiotics and has been on them from Wednesday to today. He was more chipper yesterday and today. However, headache and sore throat came back tonight. Took temperature and it is on the other side now (95.5 and 96.2). Is this normal or is something else going on? Thoughts?

I do understand the concern for your son, since he was given antibiotics a few days back:
1) Let him finish the complete course of antibiotics. since he has not much fever, you can be assured that he is doing well.
2) Since he is having headache and sore throat, I advise you to give him steam inhalation thrice a day. Give plenty of water to drink. This will give him much needed relief.
3) You can use few analgesics and counter irritant balms if headache persists. Do salt water gargle twice a day.
4) If at all fever recurs, and other symptoms like chills, rigors, vomiting occur, then you need to undergo thorough medical examination. In your case your son appears fine. Just be watchful and take good care. Your are a loving parent!
