Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Headache And Pain Behind The Right Eye?
Over the last three days, I have woken up with a headache focused behind my right eye and moves towards the back of my head. My headaches are typically not treatable with OTC meds. I ve taken the stringer meds and usually goes away. I m concerned because I ve never had a headache that returns three days in a row. To add to my issue, I ve come down with what feels like a chest cold. I don t know if this is part of the problem. I m scheduled for a hysterectomy on Wednesday and concerned the meds I take now will impact my scheduled surgery. Am I overthinking this....I m afraid of ignoring crucial symptoms but don t want to overreact either.
2. If you upload the CT scan images, I will be able to give you an accurate assessment.
3. The problem with a rhinogenic headache is that it must be differentiated from a migraine.
4. A trial of medication for nasal congestion and sinusitis should be prescribed by a local doctor.
5. Relief from these medications will help confirm the diagnosis. Further treatment options can be discussed after the trial results and review of the CT Scan images.
6. There does not seem to be any danger of meningitis at present.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Ivan R. Rommstein,
