What Causes Headache And Fever While On Gabapentin?

I am taking gabapentine 300 mg 4 times a day for cough. I tried after a week of this dosage to increase to 5 times a day and I had a bad allergic reaction., with swallowed face, redness in the face, a major headache, body hache, zand fever. I guess the maximum dose I ca tolerate is 1,400 mg a day. Because of that I need to tolerate a significant amount of cough, My question: are there alternative medication . Thank you

Hello,

You already taking it maximum dose. It may cause allergic reactions.

Gabapentin not useful for cough unless you're suffering from psychosomatic problem.

Check for other possibilities like viral or bacterial infection.

Use antihistamine for allergic reactions. Please consult your physician he will examine and treat you accordingly.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
