What Causes Headache And Cough Post Treatment For UTI?

I started out with a uti that was treated with macrobid. At the end of that I had a scratchy throat and developed headaches and a cough to the point of gagging and vomiting. I had a chest x-ray that was negative for pneumonia. I was given a steriod shot and albuterol. Three or four days later I went back to doctor and was given Augmentin for sinus infection, told to continue albuterol and given tessalon perles for cough. I haven t slept through the night in at least a week. I am very incontenient.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

You can have acute bronchitis like respiratory tract infection. You need to complete the antibiotics course. You have been prescribed bronchodilator drug as well. The steroid will help in relieving inflammation.

If your health doesn't improve than spirometry like investigation can be planned.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Parth Goswami,
