What Causes Hard Lump On The Tragus?

I m a healthy, 21 year old male. For as long as I can recall, I ve had a hard, immovable, painless lump in front of my left tragus, that seems to be attached to my zygomatic arch. The lump hasn t seemed to grow, however, I am still concerned as to what it may be. Thanks for your help.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern.

Thanks for your query . The lump on the tragus part can occur due to many reasons like infection of lymph nodes , because there are lymph nodes present in this area , lipoma which growth of fatty tissue under the skin or it could also be possible that it is a tumor arising from bone or cartilage .

As you mention symptoms in query it seems to me that the lump is most probably a lipoma (if it moves little on mild pressure by finger) which is harmless growth of fatty tissue . It can be removed by minor surgery.

I would suggest you to to consult doctor or surgeon for proper evaluation to rule out the cause any tumor or cancerous growth. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics (amoxicilline) for infection atleast for 10 days or recommend surgery .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
