What Causes Hand Tremors When Diagnosed With Muscle Atrophy?

My step mother said she was up most of the night freezing and shaking. The next day she went to her dr who said her white blood cell count jumps from 800 to 2600 so her doctor gave her antibiotics - suspecting a urinary track infection. After 2 days there was no improvement so they did a cat scan. She does not have the results yet. Any ideas? She was diagnosed with muscle atrophy specific to French Canadians - she says on her left side - a few years ago. It runs in her family. She is experiencing quite a bit of shaking with her left hand recently.

Diabetologist 's  Response
Hi,

These tremors may be fasciculations, together with muscle atrophy could be a part of neurological weakness. Needed nerve conduction study & muscle biopsy. Please consult a Neurophysician.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. REKHA T, Diabetologist
