Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hello thanks for asking from HCM

I can understand your concern. She is 84 years old and considering her symptoms there are many possibilities like
- Some psychotic disorder
- Dementia
- Depression in old age
- Some organic cause possibility electrolyte imbalance or delirium

For her persistent hallucinations I'd advise you to visit a doctor for evaluation. Get her serum electrolytes done to rule out any electrolyte imbalance. Get her MRI done to rule out any organic lesion in brain. If thats come normal then visit a psychiatrist for opinion. Medicines like Haloperidole with Phenargan can help to correct her psychotic condition. Once she becomes better with that then oral medicines can be started. Visit a psychiatrist for her evaluation.

Thanks, Hope this helps you. Take care
